LOST BAGGAGE

Unfortunately, your luggage hasn’t arrived at destination?
Forlì airport staff is here to help you, doing everything possible to locate and return your baggage to you as soon as possible.

In case of missing baggage, here’s what you need to know:

  • If your checked baggage is not available on arrival, head to the local airport baggage service counter (Lost & Found office) as soon as possible to fill in a Property Irregularity Report (P.I.R.).

WARNING: Please note that if you leave the restricted arrival area of the airport without having filed a P.I.R. report, we will no longer be able to provide assistance and validate the loss of your baggage.

  • By filling in the PIR you will be asked to provide the bag tag receipt and a description, as detailed as possible, of your luggage and its contents;
  • At this point, the operator starts baggage search procedures;
  • Once found, your baggage will be delivered directly to the address you indicated in the file, if provided by the Carrier, or you can retrieve it directly at the Lost & Found office at the airport;
  • If the conditions are met, you will be entitled to compensation, bearing in mind that the complaint must be submitted or sent in writing to the Airline within 21 days:
    – From the date of delivery of the baggage, if the luggage has been found;
    – From the date of the filling in of the P.I.R. report, if the luggage hasn’t been found;
  • If you are entitled to a compensation, you have to forward following documents to the Company:
    – Booking reference
    – Master copy of the P.I.R. issued at the airport
    – Master copy of the baggage identification tag
    – List of contents of lost or delayed baggage;
  • Please check directly with the airline the applied procedures in case of lost baggage.

DAMAGED BAGGAGE

Unfortunately, it happens that a checked baggage is delivered damaged to the owner.

Forlì airport staff is at your disposal to help you:

  • In case of damaged baggage, here below what you need to know:
    If your baggage has been damaged, head to the local airport baggage service counter (Lost & Found office) as soon as possible to fill in a Damaged Property Irregularity Report (D.P.R.).

WARNING: Please note that if you leave the restricted arrival area of the airport without having filed a D.P.R. report, we will no longer be able to provide assistance and validate the damage of your baggage.

  • Usually airlines do not allow refunds for minor damages, such as scratches, stains or dents, which may be caused by a normal use of the baggage, or water damage, in case of non-waterproof baggage;
  • By filling in the DPR you will be asked to provide the baggage tag receipt and together with the airport staff you will verify the occurred damage;
  • If conditions are met, you will be entitled to compensation, bearing in mind that the complaint must be submitted or sent in writing to the Airline within 7 days from the date of delivery of the baggage;
  • If you are entitled to a compensation, you have to forward following documents to the Company:
    – Booking reference
    – Master copy of the DPR issued at the airport
    – Master copy of the baggage identification tag
    – List of contents of lost or delayed baggage.
  • Please check directly with the airline the applied procedures in case of lost baggage.
