Lost baggage
Have you arrived at your destination but unfortunately there is no trace of your luggage?
Forlì airport staff are there to help you and will do their utmost to locate your luggage and return it to you as soon as possible.
In case of missing luggage, here's what you need to know:
- in case of damaged baggage, before leaving the baggage claim area, you must contact the Lost&Found office in order to fill out the appropriate forms called DPR (Damaged Property Report).
- When filling out the PIR, you will be asked to provide the baggage receipt that was handed to you when you checked in at the departure airport and a description, as detailed as possible, of your baggage and its contents
- at which point, the operator will initiate the paperwork for the search of the luggage;
- once found, your baggage will be delivered directly to the address you indicated in the file, if provided by the Carrier you travelled with, or you can retrieve it directly from the Lost & Found office at the airport;
- if the conditions are met, the passenger will be entitled to compensation, bearing in mind that the claim must be made or sent in writing to the airline, under penalty of forfeiture, immediately and in any event within 21 days::
- from the date of delivery of the luggage, if it is subsequently found
- from the date of completion of the PIR, if the luggage has not been found - the documents to be attached to the claim are as follows:
- flight booking code
- original PIR issued at the airport
- original of the luggage identification tag
- list of the contents of lost or delayed luggage.

Damaged baggage

In case of damaged luggage, here's what you need to know:
- in the event of lost luggage, you must go to the Lost & Found office at your arrival airport to fill out the appropriate forms called PIR (Property Irregularity Report).
- Airlines usually do not authorise reimbursement for minor damages, such as scratches, stains or dents, which may be due to normal wear and tear of the luggage, or water damage in the case of non-waterproof luggage;
- You will be asked to present your baggage receipt when filling out the claim form, and the airport employee will determine the damage to your baggage in order to initiate the procedure;
- in the event of a claim, you will be entitled to compensation, bearing in mind that the claim must be submitted or sent in writing to the airline, under penalty of forfeiture, immediately and in any event within 7 days from the date of delivery of the luggage;
- the documents to be attached to the claim are as follows:
- flight booking code
- original PIR issued at the airport
- original of the luggage identification tag
- list of the contents of any damaged luggage.
